Period One Timeline
Important Civilizations of the Period
The top three most important civilization in this period (according to my personal belief) are as follows:
- Mesopotamia - Often awarded the title of “The Cradle of Civilization”, Mesopotamia is widely considered as one of the most important early civilizations. Its advancements in all categories, including astronomy, math, religion, scripture, farming, and architecture, all fuse together to create the civilization that opened the book of our success. The Mesopotamian Civilization is located in modern day Iraq, between the rivers of Tigris and Euphrates.
- Indus Valley - Along with Mesopotamia, this was one of the earliest Civilizations in the entire world. As its name might suggest, it was located along the Indus River in northern India. Evidence from archaeological studies suggest that it was highly advanced in its scripture and metallurgy. The Indus Valley Civilization actually has a written language that is still undecipherable to this day. Much is unknown about the civilization, including its downfall, but we can say for sure that it was important in its time.
- Egypt/Nile River Valley - This civilization was one of the original 3 considered the first civilizations on Earth. Along with its two counterparts, the Egyptian Civilization was quite advanced for its time, specifically in the areas of irrigation and crop cultivation. This skill was derived for the constant flooding of the Nile River, giving way to the usage of canals and mass production of crops.
